Mealtime: Grilled Chicken Pita

Here in Israel, there is an abundance of options when it comes to street food. There are the ubiquitous options of bourekas, shawarma, and falafel. Where ever you find falafel and shawarma, there will usually be other options. One of these options is having grilled chicken breast stuffed into a pita, baguette, or a lafa. The chicken breast is usually marinated in olive oil, salt, pepper, and grill seasoning. The grilled chicken breast is then stuffed into a pita and you have the choice of fixings. Usually the fixings differ from restaurant to restaurant. Most restaurants have hummus, tehina, salad, chopped cabbage, pickles, chili paste, and sliced onions. Ordering a chicken pita instead of the usual falafel or shawarma is nice once in a while because eating falafel and shawarma all the time can be boring. So if you are getting bored of falafel or shawarma, give a grilled chicken pita a try. Enjoy!
