Lachmajun: Israeli Style

I have had Lachmajun before in the States. It is dough baked with ground meat, tomatoes, and herbs. It is very common in Armenia and Turkey. Usually it is eat by itself, but in Israel it is not. In Israel the lachmajun is used as if it were bread  and then used to put shwarma inside. This was a crazy combination that I had never seen before. In fact when I was at the restaurant I told my friend Omer that it is usually eaten with out shwarma and not rolled like a lafa. Lafa by the way is a large flat bread that is used to make shwarma sandwiches. So I eat it and to my surprise it was absolutely delicous. Such a strange concept which I thought would not work but totally did. If you ever find yourself at the corner of Yehuda Halevi and Nachalat Binyamin in Tel Aviv, go to the Turkish Lachmajun restaurant. It is delcious and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. Enjoy!
