Mealtime: Braised Beef in tomato sauce

This braised beef dish is sort of like steak pizzaiola. I take a chuck roast of beef and braise it in a homemade tomato sauce. It is perfect for a cold day or anytime really. It is delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients
chuck roast of beef
chopped onions
diced carrot
minced garlic
chopped green chili
4 grated tomatoes
tablespoon of tomato paste
oregano
salt
zaatar
sesame seeds
olive oil
grill seasoning

Method
coat the beef roast with zaatar, salt, and grill seasoning. Then in a pan with olive oil, brown the beef roast. When both sides of the beef are browned, place in a roasting pan. Add more olive oil and add the carrots and onions. Cook until the onions become translucent. After this happens, you should add he chili and the garlic. Cook for two minutes until the garlic and chili becomes tender. Then add the oregano, zaatar, and sesame seeds. Cook that for a minute and add then add the tomato paste. Cook until the tomato paste is combined thoroughly. Then add the four grated tomatoes and cook for about two minutes. Then add some water and bring to a boil. Once the sauce comes to a boil the sauce is ready. Pour the sauce over the beef in the roasting pan along with some black olives and small whole potatoes with a aluminium foil cover. Place in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour. After an hour raise the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for another 20 minutes. Then cook for another 15 minutes with the cover off. Once this is done, take out of the oven and let the roast rest. After it rests, slice thin and serve with the potatoes and the sauce. It goes well with a salad or steamed vegetable of your choice. I hope you enjoy this dish on your own. It is simple and delicious. Enjoy!
