Political Posters of Israel

Today, Israelis will get out and vote for the next government of their state. For the past three months, political parties have been campaigning with ads on television, the internet, and on the street. I found them to be very interesting,so I have documented a few posters of the parties vying for a spots in the next Knesset.

HaAvoda, or the Israeli Labor party had a few posters attacking current Prime Minister and Likud Leader Benjamin(Bibi) Netanyahu.

This one says "Bibi is good for the rich, while Shelly(Shelly Yachimovich, the leader of HaAvoda) is good for you".

This is another poster attacking Bibi Netanyahu from the Labor party which says, "The Likud Party is not what it used to be, Bibi is only good for the rich".

This poster is from the joint ticket from Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu Party. It shows a portrait of Bibi Netanyahu the leader of the Likud and says "Strong Prime Minster, Strong Israel"

The upstart Jewish Home Party or Habayit HaYehudi Party is a ultra nationalistic religious party led by Naftali Bennett. Their poster says "Something new is starting"

Meretz, which is a left wing social democratic party  has one of their posters saying "make sure your voice is against Bibi" this translation maybe wrong but I am going to give it a go because Meretz is on the left and is against the platform of the Likud, Bibi's party.

The Hatnuah party or the Movement, led by Tzipi Livini has a poster circulating that read " Bibi and Lieberman(Avigdor Lieberman) Disaster, Tzipi Livni Peace"

The Shas Party, which is the ultra-orthodox sephardic/Mizrachi party had a political poster with a portrait of Avigdor Lieberman  reading "only a strong Shas will prevent assimilation"

The Kadima had two posters which I took pictures of. The first one has to deal with Equal national service. This concerns the ultra-orthodox community which up until this summer did not have to serve in the IDF, or some sort of national service.

The second one has a picture of Ariel Sharon and current Kadima leader Shaul Mofaz, which has to deal with Ariel Sharon giving a vote of confidence to Shaul Mofaz, the current leader of Kadima. For those of you that do not know, Ariel Sharon founded the Kadima party after breaking away from the Likud.

The last political poster I photographed was one from the Daam party, which is the communist party here in Israel. It has both Hebrew and Arabic in the poster. IT has both languages because it appeals to both Jews and Israeli Arabs.

All of these posters were found everywhere on the street. On community bulletin boards, billboards, stuck to walls of buildings, outside homes, and on the side of buses. Enjoy!
