This week was extremely rainy, cold, wet, and just nasty. There was snow in Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. The Ayalon highway here in Tel Aviv flooded and had to be closed. The NHL is coming back!!!!!(Lockout ended). Witnessed a fight between two people who came into the soup kitchen. Went to a fantastic beer festival and sampled a wide variety of Israeli beers I had not tried before. It was funny when I told my site coordinator at Lilach that I was going to the beer festival. She said she would rather be at home and inside. It is funny to see that when there is rain, no one wants to go out and do things. Only if it is completely necessary. It is funny, when I packed for this trip I never thought I would be wanting more winter clothes here. I never imagined using a space heater at all in fact. I guess I was proved wrong, winter is still winter even if it is in the Middle East. Besides the gross weather, its been remarkable how far I have come since September. My Hebrew is getting better everyday. I am able to speak with the kids I volunteer with and they understand me. Its a wonderful thing. Anyways more to come from Tel Aviv in the coming week for sure.
Hi, David, I am so very proud of you! xoxox, Mom
